TAB Ry Cooder Flashes

Here is a guy on YouTube playing Flashes by Ry Cooder. He mentions: the version I play is mainly derived from a transcription in an old Dutch magazine that was published in the early eighties.

All right, that magazine should be Music Maker Magazine and the guy who tabbed the tune was me (read the subtitles!). The tab is a guitar transcription in an article I published in january 1983, and I wonder how I managed to get this difficult arrangement down on paper.

The tune is actually played in E A E G# B E. But all strings are tuned a half step lower. So you should tune your guitar Eb Ab Eb G Bb Eb. Ry Cooder plays a lot of his stuff on stage in standard or different tunings. This tune, written by Bix Beiderbecke, I tabbed from Ry Cooder’s LP Jazz (1978), using an old tapedeck, headphones, a pencil and paper. Of course it has been written down like I heard it way back when… Have fun!

Grab the TAB in PDF (3,47 MB). Do not spread it around, but link to this page. Use it for your own purpose. Thanks.
